Poppy 3 Year Old, Female, Labrador x Whippet





Poppy is a three year old, female, Labrador x Whippet, and she loves going for walks and playing with her Kong toys. She’s reactive to other dogs following a frightening incident when out walking but walks nicely on her lead. Poppy is fully house-trained, has had obedience training (recall and loose lead), and understands a number of commands. Please enquire.

● Poppy has no known health issues.
● She’s fully vaccinated, microchipped and has been spayed.
● When left alone in the house, Poppy will sleep and behave destructively. She has chewed furniture and a rug previously.
● Poppy is crate-trained.
● She’s pleased to see you when you get home and will sometimes follow you between rooms.
● After a walk, Poppy loves to relax, then have something to eat and a sleep.
● She may bark in the garden if she hears a neighbour’s dog bark.
● Poppy loves to chew on toys, especially from Kong as they’re extra tough.
● If a stranger is at the front door she can be a little shy at first but will then happily greet them.
● Poppy has two meals a day. She has Butcher’s Lean & Tasty/ Meat in Jelly with a scoopy of Wagg Working Dog kibble. She has the same in the evening.
● She isn’t reactive around food and will happily sit and wait until given the “okay” command.
● Too many treats can upset her tummy.
● Poppy is fully house-trained.
● She’s had obedience training as an adult dog as she was a rescue. Poppy needed to have recall training and a loose lead workshop.
● Poppy understands the commands: sit, stay, come here, leave it, paw, and recall (when off lead).
● She has two walks a day. An hour and a half in the morning and a shorter walk in the afternoon.
● Poppy walks nicely on her lead.
● She’s reactive when on her lead if she comes across other dogs whilst out walking. Poppy had an incident where she was frightened by two other large dogs and whilst not injured is now fearful.
● Poppy has been used to children between the ages of one and fourteen visiting the house. Prior to this, she has lived with both a baby and a toddler.
● She has a prey drive and will chase rabbits and squirrels.
● Poppy hates cats.
● She behaves well in the car (in a crate) and at the vets.
