Indie's Assesment

● Indie is microchipped, has been spayed, but her vaccinations aren’t yet up to date.
● She has intermittent urination issues. These periods can last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months before returning to a normal urination pattern. She has no known other health issues.
● When left alone in the home, Indie will remain calm and sleep.
● Once you get home, she’s pleased to see you and will sometimes follow you between rooms.
● When you’re at home with her, she’s generally calm and settled but will have some sporadic episodes of excitement.
● If someone is at the front door, Indie is curious to see who’s there. She’s cautious of strangers but fine with people she’s familiar with.
● Indie eats two or three times a day based on how much she ate with her previous meal. She eats Pedigree Senior canned dog food mixed with Hi-Life dry dog food (turkey, rice, and vegetables normally). She loves eating cooked meat and is given natural dog treats.
● She can get impatient when she sees that her food is ready and it’s slow to get to her, so she’ll bark but will also follow commands to wait and sit before being given the command to eat.
● Indie is fully house-trained.
● She hasn’t had formal obedience training but does understand the commands: sit, stay, come here, leave it, and paw.
● Indie usually goes on a walk once a day but ideally would like a walk in both the morning and evening. She sometimes pulls on her lead.
● She has mixed reactions to other dogs. Some she likes and they like her, others the opposite. If she’s off her lead (but with her muzzle on) she is fine with any other dog. On the lead she needs a slow introduction. There are other times where she’s completely disinterested in other dogs.
● Indie has been fine with children aged ten and over. She has toll tolerate younger children but tries to keep out of their way as she doesn’t enjoy being grabbed and held.
● Indie has lived with other dogs but prefers smaller ones. She doesn’t like cats at all and couldn’t live in a house with them.
● She has a prey drive and will chase sheep, birds, cats, and squirrels.
● Indie may growl but only as a warning. This is usually because someone is in her personal space or if she’s being groomed under her belly.
● She doesn’t like being left alone for more than a few hours but also likes her personal space.
● Indie gets scared going to the vets or the groomers and will shake when she’s in the car.
