Ginger is a quiet 17 year old male Lhasa Apso who is looking for his forever home. Ginger is micro-chipped. Ginger is quite deaf and partially sighted with cataracts in both eyes. Ginger has arthritis in the back legs. Ginger is fully house-trained but has the occasional accident if not let out regularly. Ginger walks very slowly on the lead. Ginger has previously been around visiting children. Ginger has lived with other dogs in the past and is ok with them on walks. Ginger would suit an experienced new home. ● Ginger has been vet checked and micro-chipped
● Ginger has health issues. He is quite deaf and partially sited with cataracts in both eyes. He is sometimes a little stiff on his back legs with arthritis and can urinate inside if he is not let outside regularly. He also has a testicular tumour.
● Ginger has lived in a bungalow without any stairs previously, so may be best on the ground floor. Once he is familiar with his surroundings he gets around ok even though he doesn't see very well. He has been used to going outside in an enclosed garden and enjoys pottering around, but doesn't like going on any long walks
● Ginger will sleep and is calm when left alone
● Ginger is pleased to see you when you arrive home
● Ginger will hardly ever follow you if you go to another room
● Ginger is very quiet at home and hardly ever barks. He wags his tail when walking around and likes to have a nap during the day for a couple of hours
● Ginger doesn't go to the front door to greet people unless he wants to go outside. If anyone knocks or rings the bell, he doesn't usually get up
● Ginger will go near his dish and move it around to let you know that he wants his food. He sometimes asks for food if you're eating things and are not sitting at the table. He will nudge you with his paw
● Ginger has been used to eating in the morning and at tea time and will eat Ceaser's soft dog food and some little biscuits in his bowl. He likes Schmacs Chews poultry flavour, chicken and fish flavour
● Ginger is fully house-trained
● Ginger has had no formal obedience training
● Ginger knows the commands 'sit','stay','come here'
● Ginger sometimes pulls on the lead on walks
● Ginger is ok with other dogs on walks
● Ginger hasn't been walked often as he is usually in the garden. He walks out slowly on his lead and doesn't like to be pulled. He likes to go at his own slow pace.
● Ginger has previously been used to visiting children
● Ginger has previously lived with other dogs
● Ginger is very quiet and relaxed around the home. He likes to go out in the garden regularly and doesn't like to stay out for long periods if it is cold
● Ginger doesn't like travelling in the car but travels on the back seat
● Ginger doesn't like his paws touching when he's being clipped and can bark a little because he doesn't like his feet being touched. Otherwise, he is fine
● Ginger has never injured another dog or person before
