Sierra 9-Year-Old, Female, German Shepherd





Sierra is a nine-year-old, female, German Shepherd who’s looking for her forever home. She has a lot of energy and loves long walks but is protective of her family and may bark at other dogs and people. Sierra is fully house-trained and understands a range of commands. She’s very affectionate and when left alone in the home will sleep and remains calm. Sierra would suit a family that has experience with larger breeds and doesn’t have cats. Please enquire.

Sierra's Assesment

● Sierra has been microchipped but needs her vaccinations brought up to date.
● Sierra hasn’t yet been spayed.
● When she’s left alone in your home, she’ll sleep and remains calm.
● Once you arrive at home, Sierra is pleased to see you and will jump up.
● Whilst you’re at home with her, she’ll sometimes follow you between rooms or find a spot to curl up and relax.
● If Sierra wants attention or wants to go outside, she’ll come and find you.
● She’ll sometimes playfight with the family cat but is generally calm.
● When someone knocks at the front door (or puts something through the letterbox), Sierra will bark until they’ve walked away from the house.
● She’s fed with biscuits in the morning and in the evening has a tin of wet food with some biscuits. She previously ate raw food twice daily.
● Sierra is well-behaved whilst waiting for her dinner. If commanded to, she’ll sit and not eat food placed in front of her.
● If you’re busy and Sierra wants her meal, she can whinge a little bit.
● Sierra is fully house-trained.
● She’s not had obedience training but does understand the commands sit, stay, come here, leave it, and paw.
● Sierra has a lot of energy and is in her element when out walking. She enjoys having hour long walks in the evening.
● She’ll sometimes pull on her lead.
● When Sierra meets other dogs, she’ll want to investigate them. She’ll sometimes remain calm or sometimes bark. She’s never injured another dog. Given time, she is likely to get on well with any dog.
● Sierra has lived with other dogs. She’s lived with one cat for her whole life but doesn’t like other cats and couldn’t live with one.
● She loves to meet new people and is very affectionate.
● Sierra has lived with children over 7 and has been used to visiting children over 3 years old.
● She has been well-behaved but can get over-excited and doesn't like too much physical play. She would suit an adult home.
● Sierra is protective of her family and may appear to be reactive when out on walks, however, she’s never injured a person.
