Seamus 10 Year Old, Male, Border Collie Crossbreed

Seamus is a ten year old, male, Border Collie Crossbreed, and he’s looking for his forever home. He has a range of health issues, including being completely blind. Due to this, he needs a lot of additional reassurance. Seamus gets separation anxiety when left on his own and will bark a lot and toilet inside. He loves attention and cuddles and when you’re at home with him he’s calm and loves to sleep. Please enquire.

Seamus's Assessment

● Seamus is fully vaccinated and microchipped. He’s been neutered.
● He has a range of health issues which include: Collie Eye, Glaucoma, Cataracts, being completely blind, and mild arthritis in his right hind knee.
● When left alone, Seamus has some separation anxiety and will bark a lot and toilet inside.
● Once you get home, he’s pleased to see you and will jump up.
● When you’re at home with him, he’s very calm and loves to sleep. Seamus will always follow you between rooms and loves attention and cuddles.
● He needs a lot of reassurance due to being blind.
● Seamus gets excited when someone is at the front door but will settle quickly. He will occasionally bark if he hears something but again, settles quickly.
● He’s partially house-trained and still has some accidents.
● Seamus will wait calmly for food and has been used to eating 1 cup of James Wellbeloved for Seniors in the morning and evening.
● Seamus hasn’t had obedience training but understands the commands: sit, come here, leave it, and recall (when off lead). He knows extra commands for steps due to his vision such as up and down.
● He has a walk once each day for around half an hour and pulls on his lead a lot.
● Seamus gets on very well with other dogs when out for walks.
● He’s previously lived with three other dogs. He gets on well with females, but can show some minor reactive behaviours around males e.g. staring. He’s never bitten another dog.
● Seamus hasn’t lived with children nor been around visiting ones.
● He is an extremely affectionate dog who loves company and attention.
